ALBUM - Lights for creative people

ALBUM‘s philosophy has always paid lots of attention to energy saving without compromising on quality and design. For over 20 years their traditional collection has been made by halogen lights at 12 V, much more efficient than traditional lightbulbs. The new range at 24V uses LEDs as light source, which, with equal light intensity, consumes five times less than the traditional incandescent and last over 40 times longer. Ein Maedel will heiraten * A girl wants to get married

I was literally amazed by the page of lighting fixtures shown in a german book dated 1938 ( Verlag Otto Beyer,Leipzig 1938)...The book gives young people who want to marry ,suggestions for furnishing the house.
I find this style still very modern. Look at the last floorlamp...actually you can find very similar ones in our malls !! And also the first chandelier can be of good inspiration to nowadays designers, of course adding some updated technology.

Mi ha lasciato letteralmente attonita questa pagina di lampade del 1938 tratta da un libro tedesco edito da Otto Beyer, Lipsia 1938... Il libro dà suggerimenti per arredare la casa di una giovane coppia che intende sposarsi.
Trovo lo stile ancora molto attuale. Guardate la foto dell'ultima piantana...se ne trovano ancora di molto simili nei nostri negozi !! Ed anche il primo lampadario a soffitto può servire da ispirazione ai designers di oggi,ovviamente con l'aggiunta della moderna tecnologia.

"Chez" MAXIM - Coriandoli di luce nella nuova esposizione

Il 6 novembre MAXIM ha inaugurato la nuova esposizione a Dairago, pochi chilometri da Milano.
Il sito, una stazione di benzina dismessa, é stato interamente rinnovato e trasformato grazie all'esplosiva creatività dei titolari. All'interno una vasta scelta di apparecchi illuminanti per interni nei diversi stili, dal più classico,tradizionale al più innovativo con tecnologia LED. Tutti i prodotti sono interamente MADE IN ITALY, con la possibilità di ulteriori personalizzazioni per il cliente.
Oltre ai lampadari, MAXIM produce anche tende d'interno e tecniche,tende da sole, zanzariere ed accessori.

On 6th November MAXIM opened the new showroom in Dairago, a few kilometers from Milano.
The location, an old gasoline station, has been completely renewed thanks to the explosive creativity of the owners. Inside a vast range of lighting fixtures in a big variety of different styles, from the most classical and traditional to the newest one with LED technology. All products are entirely MADE IN ITALY, with the possibility of being custom-made.
Apart from the lighting fixtures,MAXIM produces also decorative curtains, awnings, mosquito nets and accessories.

Luci d'Artista - Torino

Luci d’Artista a Torino apre il 3 novembre 2010 e si conclude il 16 gennaio 2011. Le opere di Daniel Buren, Marco Gastini, Rebecca Horn, Joseph Kosuth, Mario Merz, Michelangelo Pistoletto e Gilberto Zorio verranno poi riaccese per illuminare la città in onore del 150° anniversario dell’Unità d’Italia dal 17 marzo fino alla fine di giugno 2011. Luci d’Artista in Turin opens on 3rd November 2010 and ends on 16th January 2011. The works of Daniel Buren, Marco Gastini, Rebecca Horn, Joseph Kosuth, Mario Merz, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Gilberto Zorio will be switched on again from 17th March to june’s end 2011 for celebrating the 150° anniversary of Italy’s unification. I wonder why the street light is pink painted...the artist would just catch the eye or because we are already used to black street lamps?? Interesting contrast. Deformed and grey human bodies and inbetween a pink colour touch..Upside down world..
