Sulle note musicali di Hans Zimmer e Lisa Gerrard del famoso film " Il Gladiatore" mi sono lasciata ispirare per scrivere queste poche righe e per la scelta di questa foto, scattata un anno fa ad "architect@at work", evento dedicato ai produttori di materiali, manufatti per progetti d'architettura. Poco più di un anno dopo, il mondo intero non è più lo stesso e non lo sarà più come prima. Ma, come la luce illumina sempre le zone buie, così anche un momento così difficile illuminerà noi esseri umani per comportamenti più consapevoli. Ne sono convinta. C'è chi ha pagato, paga e pagherà un prezzo molto alto, ma i sopravvissuti sapranno fare tesoro ed evolveranno. Ce la faremo. Andrà tutto bene. L'opera descritta in foto è di Alessandra Aita ed è estremamente evocativa..un uomo che affoga ? Si sta ritirando in se stesso ? Ma c'è dietro di lui, l'altro uomo, pronto ad aiutarlo con la propria energia luminosa. Non sappiamo il finale:  sta a noi trovare l'alternativa, la soluzione, prima che sia davvero troppo tardi. Il materiale utilizzato per queste installazioni è il legno : tanti piccoli rametti in legno che compongono le sculture. Un rimando all'indissolubile rapporto UOMO- NATURA, da amare, rispettare e ritrovare il giusto equilibrio.

On the musical notes of Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard of the famous movie "The Gladiator" I have been inspired to write these few words and to choose this photo, taken a year ago at "architect @ at work", an event dedicated to manufacturers of materials and artifacts for architectural projects. Just  a year later, the whole world is no longer the same and will never be the same again. But, as light always illuminates dark areas, so even a difficult moment will illuminate human beings for a more conscious behavior. I am convinced about it. There are those who have paid and will pay a very high price, but the survivors will learn and evolve. We'll make it. Everything will be fine. The work described in the photo is by Alessandra Aita and is extremely evocative... a man drowning ? Is he retreating into himself? But behind him, the other man is ready to help him with his own light energy. We don't know the ending: it's up to us to find the alternative, the solution, before it's really too late. The material used for these installations is wood: many small wooden twigs, making up the sculptures. A reference to the indissoluble HUMAN-NATURE relationship, to love, respect and find the right balance.

Il committente ha selezionato i lampadari dalla vasta gamma aziendale, che poi sono stati appositamente customizzati Per illuminare l’arte e la cultura in Villa Arconati-FAR è stata scelta l’energia al “100% rinnovabile” di E.ON, sostenibile e proveniente solo da fonti rinnovabili, attraverso un sistema di illuminazione ad alta efficienza.

During the restoration at Villa Arconati, supported by the Augusto Rancilio Foundation, an Italian company, specialized in the production of stylish chandeliers, Nervilamp srl, has created four chandeliers for the red room to be used in the evening and also during night events. The client has selected the chandeliers from the company's wide range, then specially customized. To illuminate the art and culture in Villa Arconati-FAR, E.ON's 100% renewable energy has been selected,coming only from renewable sources, through a high-efficiency lighting system.

Ville Aperte in Brianza is an event at its 17th edition. 150 sites, including historical buildings, residences, churches, parks and gardens, open until Sunday 29 September in 72 municipalities in 5 Lombard provinces. La musica è musa ispiratrice anche durante lo svolgimento della propria professione. Ed è proprio questo il leitmotiv dell'evento  che si svolgerà in un unico appuntamento, mercoledì 18 settembre a Milano in occasione del quale si svolgeranno in contemporanea i party DjArch. Ciascun showroom coinvolto sarà abbinato a tre studi di architettura i quali, assistiti da un Dj professionista, racconteranno attraverso una playlist la loro musica preferita. Il pubblico partecipante voterà “live” la migliore playlist di ogni architetto. Le playlist sono presentate in maniera del tutto originale da una COVER, realizzata per questa unica occasione da ogni studio di architettura.  Tra gli showroom, tutti nomi prestigiosi e conosciuti nei vari settori del design, un fiore all'occhiello nell'illuminazione europea : KREON, con le proprie collezioni di ingegnosa semplicità.

Music plays an important role at work as well. This is the event's leitmotiv  which will take place on Wednesday 18 September in Milan, where more parties will be held simultaneously. Each showroom will involve three architectural studios, playing their favorite music. The participating audience will vote "live" for the best playlist of each architect. The playlists are presented  by unique COVER, created for this occasion by each architectural studio. Among the showrooms, all prestigious and well-known names of international design, a flagship in European lighting: KREON, with their  collections of ingenious simplicity.

Vado un po' contro tendenza nel proporre queste meravigliose lampade di Osvaldo Borsani, icona senza tempo del design italiano da fine anni '30 insieme all'azienda di arredamenti TECNO, da lui fondata insieme al fratello Fulgenzio, ancora oggi attiva e presente sui mercati internazionali. A lui è appena stata dedicata una bella mostra alla TRIENNALE di Milano e in via del tutto straordinaria il FAI delegazione di Monza vi invita a visitare la sua casa privata a Varedo il 13 e 14 ottobre 2018. La casa è un vero capolavoro di architettura razionalista con all'interno opere originali di Lucio Fontana, Agenore Fabbri,Arnaldo e Giò Pomodoro, Fausto Melotti, Aligi Sassu e altri maggiori esponenti di arte moderna italiana. Quando tutti propongono soluzioni minimaliste, non sarebbe male che aziende di illuminazione proponessero soluzioni più decorative al passo con la tecnologia corrente.

 I go a bit 'against the trend proposing these wonderful lamps by Osvaldo Borsani, timeless icon of Italian design from the late' 30s together with his furniture company TECNO, founded with his brother Fulgenzio, still active and present on international markets . A beautiful exhibition has just been dedicated to him at the TRIENNALE in Milan and  FAI delegation of Monza opens exceptionally his house, inviting you to visit it in Varedo on October 13th and 14th 2018. The house is a true masterpiece of rationalist architecture with original works by Lucio Fontana, Agenore Fabbri, Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro, Fausto Melotti, Aligi Sassu and other major exponents of modern Italian art. When everyone proposes minimalist solutions, it would not be bad for lighting companies to propose more decorative solutions in line with our current technology.

Sede RAI WAY

Il 7 ottobre 2018 la delegazione FAI di Monza apre le porte della sede RAI WAY della RAI, durante il festival del Parco di Monza. È una apertura eccezionale, probabilmente irripetibile, poiché la sede non è normalmente aperta al pubblico e non si sa se lo sarà più in altre occasioni.

La sede è del 1954. È un progetto firmato dal famoso studio Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli e viene elaborato su indicazioni della RAI.  Le funzioni del centro sono di garantire una gestione ottimale delle reti, di  mantenere ordine e regolarità delle onde radio e del segnale digitale (ogni giorno ca. 1000 misurazioni di frequenza su stazioni italiane e straniere), nonché quelle di valutare l’impatto elettromagnetico sulla salute umana. All'interno ci sono ancora gli arredi e le lampade di FONTANA ARTE, su disegno del famoso architetto Giò Ponti, il quale collaborò e diresse l'azienda di illuminazione.

On 7 October 2018 the FAI delegation of Monza opens the doors of RAI WAY, RAI's headquarters during the festival in Monza park. It is an exceptional opening, since the venue is not normally open to the public and it is not known whether it will be on other occasions.The headquarter is from 1954. It is a project signed by the famous Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli studio and is elaborated on RAI indications. The functions of the center are to ensure optimal management of the networks, to maintain order and regularity of the radio waves and the digital signal (every day about 1000 measurements of frequency on Italian and foreign stations), as well as those to assess the electromagnetic impact on health. Inside there are still furnishing and lamps by FONTANA ARTE, designed by the famous architect Giò Ponti, who collaborated and directed the lighting company.

Como NExT - Parco scientifico tecnologico

Nel mio lento peregrinare alla scoperta della mia Brianza e dintorni, in territori ricchi di arte, storia, industria, verdi parchi e colline, ho trovato, in maniera del tutto inaspettata,un nesso, un filo tra la scoperta dell'energia elettrica,una filanda e un imprenditore "illuminato". E tutto ciò è arrivato fino a noi, ristrutturato, rinnovato e riutilizzato.Siamo a Lomazzo, presso l'ex cotonificio Somaini, che ora, grazie ad un progetto di riqualificazione e ristrutturazione di Como NExT, è diventato un parco scientifico e tecnologico. Il cotonificio fu fondato per volontà di Francesco Somaini, un imprenditore, il quale fu uno dei primi ad utilizzare l'energia elettrica all'inizio del XX secolo, per dare forza motrice ai suoi macchinari per la filatura del cotone. Sino ad allora le filande utilizzavano la forza motrice dell'acqua, trasformata in vapore. All'epoca l'energia elettrica era una novità assoluta e si volle iniziare ad utilizzarla proprio per progetti industriali e per l'illuminazione pubblica! Il Somaini, imprenditore filantropo, non si fermò poi alle novità tecnologiche ma fu uno dei primi e dei pochi a costruire un villaggio operaio - su modello del Villaggio Crespi d'Adda - per migliorare le condizioni di vita dei propri dipendenti. L'ex villaggio operaio esiste ancora ed è tutt'ora abitato, mentre l'ex cotonificio è diventato un polo per lo sviluppo di attività d'impresa. L'illuminazione degli interni del sito è stata curata da Coelux e Castaldi Lighting. 

In my slow wandering to discover my territory, Brianza and surroundings, areas rich of art, history, industry, green parks and hills, I found unexpectedly a link, a thread between the discovery of electricity, a cotton mill and an "enlightened" entrepreneur. All this has come to us, renovated and reused again. We are in Lomazzo, at the former Somaini cotton mill, which now, thanks to a redevelopment and renovation project by Como NExT, has become a scientific and technological park. The cotton mill was founded by Francesco Somaini, an entrepreneur, who was one of the first to use electricity at the beginning of the XX century, to give power to his cotton spinning machinery. Until then the spinning mills used the driving force of water, transformed into steam. At that time, electricity was an absolute novelty and they wanted to start using it precisely for industrial projects and public lighting! The Somaini, a philanthropist entrepreneur, did not stop at the technological innovations but was one of the first and the few to build a village for his workers -  based on Crespi d'Adda Village - to improve the living conditions of his employees. The former workers' village still exists and is still inhabited, while the former cotton mill has become a hub for the development of business activities. The interior lighting of the site has been made by Coelux and Castaldi Lighting.

L'Officina della Luce di Hermann Einstein

Lanterna storica - Villa Olmo - Como

Canneto sull’Oglio è uno di quei tanti luoghi del nostro Bel Paese che, pur essendo spesso considerati dell’Italia minore, nascondono storie di incredibile bellezza e sono stati testimoni del passaggio di personalità note. Nella ricerca storica “L’officina della luce “ di Hermann Einstein a cura di Cecilia Usberti e Cinzia Galli, si racconta del primo impianto di illuminazione elettrica a Canneto sull’Oglio ( 1899). La scoperta è stata fatta grazie a documenti storici conservati nell’archivio comunale. Addirittura si attesta la presenza della famiglia Einstein…sì, quella del famoso scienziato Albert…L’illuminazione elettrica dei centri urbani è una conquista recente : è infatti negli ultimi anni dell’800 che si iniziarono i primi esperimenti per dare luce alle città. Anche Canneto sull’Oglio iniziò nel 1890, con un verbale di deliberazione, a considerare l’eventualità di installare la luce elettrica. Canneto sull’Oglio si trova nella provincia di Mantova ed è oltremodo famoso per una delle più grandi e conosciute aziende produttrici di bambole e giocattoli, la FURGA, chiusa nel 1992. Da non perdere, per collezionisti di bambole e giochi, ma anche per curiosi e turisti di passaggio il bel MUSEO DEL GIOCATTOLO.

Canneto sull'Oglio is one of those many places of our beautiful country that, although often considered of minor importance, hide incredibly beautiful stories and have witnessed the passage of well known personalities. In the historical research "L’officina dellaluce" by Hermann Einstein edited by Cecilia Usberti and Cinzia Galli,they talk about the first electric lighting system in Canneto sull'Oglio (1899). The discovery was made thanks to historical documents kept in the municipal archive. Even the presence of  Einstein family is attested ... yes, that of the famous scientist Albert ... The electric lighting of urban centres is a recent achievement: it is in fact in the last years of XIX century  that the first experiments were started to give light to the cities. Even Canneto sull'Oglio began in 1890, with a municipal deliberation, to consider the possibility of installing electric light. Canneto sull'Oglio is located in the province of Mantua and is extremely famous for one of the largest and most well-known doll and toy manufacturers, FURGA, sadly closed in 1992. Not to be missed, for doll and toys collectors, but also for curious people and tourists  the beautiful TOY MUSEUM.

CONVIVIANDO - L'arte della tavola

La mise en place come scenografia dell'essere, rappresentazione di sé e della società, gioco perpetuo tra arte e idealità. È il tema ispiratore della bella mostra CONVIVIANDO tenutasi recentemente a Palazzo Reale, Milano,esplorato attraverso oltre tre secoli di storia e una serie di film che hanno segnato il nostro immaginario, quali COCO CHANEL & IGOR STRAVINSKY del 2009 o VATEL del 2000. L'illuminazione a tavola gioca un ruolo fondamentale e nei vari percorsi della mostra s'intuisce l'utilizzo delle varie fonti luminose nel passare dei secoli : nel periodo Barocco tutto era preparato per stupire e si usavano metalli preziosi, come i candelabri in argento. Nel Settecento si passa a materiali quali la porcellana, per poi arrivare via via agli anni Ruggenti,riferendosi al film IL GRANDE GATSBY del 2013 col ritorno del candelabro, però con scopo meramente decorativo. Oggi si parla di avere una luce corretta a tavola per rendere l'esperienza culinaria ancora più appagante e soddisfacente.La mostra termina in un ambiente futuristico total white,ispirandosi al film EX MACHINA del 2014 in cui la luce la fa da padrona e...a noi rimangono solo pillole di cibo....alimentazione essenziale, esaltata da una esasperata ricerca estetica. Sarà davvero così ?

The mise en place as a stage for being, a representation of the self and society, an endless game of art and dream. This is the main theme of the interesting exhibition CONVIVIANDO, held at Palazzo Reale, Milano,explored thru more than three centuries of history and a series of movies that have left a mark in our imagination, as COCO CHANEL & IGOR STRAVINSKY (2009) or VATEL (2000).

Lighting plays a fundamental role on the table and in the various exhibition's stages we can understand the use of various light sources over the centuries: in the Baroque period everything was prepared for amusement and precious metals were used, such as silver candlesticks. In the eighteenth century porcelain was the most precious material, and then gradually to the Roaring years, referring to the THE GREAT GATSBY of 2013 with the return of the candlestick, but with just a decorative purpose. Today we talk about having a proper light at the table to make the culinary experience even more satisfying. The exhibition ends in a futuristic total white room, inspired by the film EX MACHINA of 2014 in which light is the master and .. food is in pills .... essential and exalted by an exasperated aesthetic research. Will it  be really like that?

Clay Paky, azienda bergamasca,parte della multinazionale Osram e leader nella produzione di proiettori automatizzati per grandi show televisivi, spettacoli teatrali ed eventi pubblici a livello mondiale, ha aperto il MoMS, il nuovo museo dedicato al Modern Show Lighting,creando un percorso culturale e non solo spettacolare o promozionale.

Il MoMS si trova all'interno della sede di Clay Paky in Via Pastrengo 3/B a Seriate in provincia di Bergamo ed è il primo museo europeo specificatamente dedicato alla luce intesa come strumento che crea emozioni, piuttosto che come mero oggetto funzionale. Lungo il percorso interattivo e multimediale, la luce è protagonista e avvolge lo spettatore con suggestivi effetti scenografici dal forte impatto emotivo. All'interno del museo sono rappresentati tutti i settori in cui la luce scenografica è un elemento fondamentale : concerti, musical teatrali, show televisivi,discoteche, attrazioni nei parchi a tema,esposizioni, eventi inaugurali, installazioni ed interventi di arredo urbano.

Il museo dispone di un archivio storico e di un sito web : www.moms-museum.org e si propone come location per l'organizzazione di seminari e corsi di formazione dedicati ai professionisti dell'illuminazione scenografica, agli studenti degli istituti professionali ed universitari, ma anche agli appassionati di un settore in continua evoluzione che coniuga l'emozione con la tecnologia più evoluta.

Il museo è aperto dal lunedì al venerdì ( non festivi) dalle 9.00 alle 12.30 e dalle 14.30 alle 18.00.

Clay Paky, an italian company close to Bergamo, part of the multinational Osram and leading manufacturer of  projectors for TV shows, theater performances and public events, opened the MoMS, the new museum dedicated to Modern Lighting Show, for creating a cultural way and not only spectacular or promotional ones.

The MOMS is located inside Clay Paky headquarter, in Via Pastrengo 3 / B in Seriate. It is the first European museum specifically dedicated to light as a tool, able to create emotions, rather than as a mere functional object. Along the interactive and multimedia path, the light is the key player and welcomes the visitor with impressive special effects of strong emotional impact. Inside the museum all sectors are represented in which the spectacular light is a key element: concerts, musicals,theater, tv shows, nightclubs, theme parks' attractions, exhibitions, events, installations and urban places. Edison shape !

Ho trovato questa bella immagine ! La forma a bulbo, meglio conosciuta come Edison, riscuote sempre il suo fascino ! È stata pensata e rielaborata in tantissime varianti. Con la sua estrema semplicità, arreda, riempie e illumina bene l'ambiente. In questa versione tutta in metallo traforato, mi piace molto : attuale, decorativa, d'effetto.

I found this great image ! The bulb shape, the well known Edison, is always attractive ! It has been produced and renewed in many different ways. It's very simple but it can help decorate and enlighten, giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. I like this total metal version : stilish, decorative, of good impact.

Hai un progetto per un centro commerciale ? Leggi qui l'esperienza di Primark.

Nell'agosto 2014, Primark, a Waterford, (Penneys in Irlanda) si è rinnovato e ha aumentato la sua superficie a 44.000 metri quadri, suddivisi su due piani.
Per la superficie illuminata sopra le scale mobili è stata scelta l'induzione QL da 85W per avere una maggiore uniformità luminosa. La manutenzione risultava difficoltosa ma grazie alle 100.000 ore garantite dalle lampade QL, il problema è stato risolto.

Primark Waterford

In August 2014, Primark (called Penneys in Ireland) opened itsnewly renovated and expanded store in Waterford. This mostrecent renovation has double the size of the store to 44,000 sq ft over two floors, taking in the former Belfry Hotel on Conduit Lane. One of the areas that required a reliable and high quality lighting solution was the ceiling situated above the busy escalators which had to have a good uniform light level. This was again a job for our field-proven QL technology that guarantees a rated life of 100,000

The Palasport Olimpico is a multipurpose indoor sports/concert arena located in Turin, Italy.
It served as one of the venues hosting the ice hockey events at the 2006 Winter Olympics. It opened in 2005 and has seats for 12,350 spectators. The arena is enlightened with more than 100 QL 165 W !

Just want to share with you these terribly amazing shots after Sandy! Not easy to experience a blacked- out New York ! Almost a mission impossible! We can find whatever smart lighting solutions..but when Mother Nature decides to overcome any human power..well..we already know the fight's result.

Avevo il desiderio di condividere con voi questi terribili ma allo stesso tempo affascinanti  scatti dopo il passaggio dell'uragano Sandy. Non è per niente facile provare l'esperienza di vivere una New York così al buio! Quasi una missione impossibile! Quasi perchè nonostante tentiamo di trovare soluzioni luminose intelligenti, quando Madre Natura decide di avere la meglio..il risultato della battaglia è scontato..!
